OENOTRIA LAND SYRAH - AGIORGITIKO
A wine that approaches the absolute. Syrah and Agiorgitiko from the Attica vineyard with extremely low yields, give after a long maceration this really dark red wine.
UNFILTERED: Decant before serving.
Color : Very deep vibrant red colour with purple hues
Aroma : Intense and complex yet elegant with aromas of cherries, plum, vanilla, fig and chocolate
Taste : In the mouth it is rich with balanced acidity and silky tannins while the finish is very long laced with notes of vanilla
Accompanies : Beef in red sauce, spicy meatballs in tomato sauce (soutzoukakia), oven baked beef with pasta (giouvetsi), eggplant with meat
Ageing : ~ 15 years
Variety : Syrah 90% - Agiorgitiko 10%
Soil : Limestone clay on a slope at 200-300m, with northern exposure
Vinification : Selection, destemming, grape selection, crushing fermentation in oak tanks, malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and ageing in new French oak barrels (24 months)
